  • How does one find Wayne Wagg’s Render To Take tool? I Googled it to no avail.

Would be a good thing to bake them in I guess.

    Thanks for the input!

Can you rebuild the custom presets? If you do, does the additional info show up, meaning is the issue ONLY with custom presets build prior to updating to 244, or does it happen with NEW custom presets you build in 244?

There is no upscaling, I am watching it on a computer in it’s native 480 resolution.
The original footage is 1080p 59.94 frames, it looks good mind you, there is just SOMETHING that has a certain look about the DVD and MPEG2 footage that seems to be lost when I render to any other format. It looks “real” or something, guess it’s just my eyes.

The interface is just cheap looking, and I have had clients comment on it…

Could you give us your system specs, including Version of Windows as well (also 32bit or 64 bit to answer John’s question).

Do you have a TOTAL of 4GB of RAM in your entire system? That is pretty low these days.
Regardless, Vegas cannot use ALL of the RAM present in your system for your Dynamic RAM preview, and I BELIEVE it does limit you to 1/4 of your total installed RAM installed when building a Dynamic RAM preview. That is likely the reason you cannot use it all.
Remember that Vegas and anything else running including your OS requires RAM to use and also additional to be available for resources that may be need. The RAM that Vegas can allocate for Dynamic RAM preview is the limit that it uses when you select a portion of your timeline and press shift-B. That creates a type of “render quality” video for that specific section. Vegas will utilize whatever RAM is needs/is available when you are editing. Preview quality while you are editing does not solely use that which you allocated in Preferences. Preview Quality is a function of your GPU in addition to your CPU and RAM (provided your GPU is one that is supported) and your other system hardware.

  • Aaron,
    I always turn off resampling.
4 tracks of video, one 1080i the rest 1080p, project setting 1080i, as they have been for like 20 projects I have used in Vegas 13 and 14 with full FPS with preview set at Best/Full

Thanks, maybe when I have a spare hour in the next week or two, I will try a test.

  • Thanks for your help Aaron!

I always keep my system clean and updated.
I am using a 12 core, dual CPU Mac Pro with Windows 7 Ultimate in Bootcamp. I have 32gb ram and a Sapphire 7950 card using 3 outputs all 1080p. System drives are SSD drives ( Mac OS on one Windows the other) with separate internal drives for data, render and storage as well.
Was working smoothly in the same environment prior to updates.
Not sure how to convert and test, but honestly I am working with 400GB of file data and really don’t wish to try to convert and do testing and waste a work day or more.
    Any other suggestion?
