That sounds pretty … ridiculously high.
I am getting 1500 out of our GlobalStor, which uses 2 of those controllers in parallel and 10 disks each.
1200 from 6 Drives ? SSD drives maybe.
But hey, if they have a recipe , do it exactly the same way..A slice of color…

First rule of thumb, write down what you use, and use it in all apps. Experiment which debayer works best, I tend to use RC3 or RLF
Second thing, try to either use RedLogFilm or bring it into true linear using EXR if heavy compositing and 3D in involved.

And please dont forget that the Decklink HDMI out AND the older HDLink are not able to output 10 or 12 bit 444.
Only using 3G or Dual Link SDI into the NEW HDLink Display port you will get the full signal.
The Decklink HDMI out does 422 only afaik.
We have a JVC RS35 which shows the input being 8 10 or 12 bit and cleary, the first two options only give 8 bit.
So to get the best from the Dreamcolor utilized as grading screen, you need to get both…
Frankly, I say ditch the idea, use it as your primary display and get a nice Plasma or old CRT as grading screen.
Also because I have multiple experiences of DreamColors being all over the place, color wise.
A proper CineSpace profile2colorspace LUT will tackle them, the HP software does not.

The Mac Pro is a kickass system, period.
None of that Winblows hassle, great people doing modified cards for it and if you really need power, you get a proper Cubix 8X and put 3 GTX 580s in.
The time I wasted on fiddling that GlobalStor I could have spent on working and buying a proper Mac.By the way…that whole lane talk made me think that maybe the raid cards could slow it down.

Well, my workflow is to set up the timeline to my desired output and then only scale the Video output.
I am using an older but still lovable JVC broadcast monitor to check my colors.
Its PAL only, but still blows anything LCD out of the water.
I work mostly in 1920 and deliver in 1280.
So my Timeline is set to 1920, the render output is set only when I am ready to do so and the video output is set to PAL.
By the way, this also dramatically reduces the lag the Decklink cards adds.A slice of color…
