Toi clarify this, that only affects people using the Q4000 as primary , right ?
When using a Gt 120 or Ati and only using the Q4000 as processer it will still work ?A slice of color…

True, also loading one of the LOG-C luts from the Alexa Lut builder will show if it jumps into place and looks nice and crisp or clipped and overcontrasted

Hi there,
The good thing about shooting in 50i is you can create nice 50% slomos by de-interlacing and interpolating.
I suggest the following.
1. make an offline edit in 50i
2. do an online in Smoke or something that can load OFX plugins
3. apply the deinterlacing and speed changes in the online tool
4. Export to a folder structure in 25P DPX
5. Load that into Resolve and work in nice and clean frames.
6. Do all the scaling and paning in Resolve and Render
7. Collect the Output in Smoke and add sound. The trick is to find a good deinterlacing algorithm that not just duplicate the lines but has some clever interpolation.
Revision is my favorite one.
If you can get rid of the field on the edit/online level you are free to do all the SRT stuff while grading.Good luck 🙂

Personally I am not a big fan of the Trim function. I bought the Logitech G13 and built me a mapping with 7 predefined memory save and load keys.
Also next and previous scene around play and advance so it became my master controll for navigation and memories . In dialogs scenes you probably have Camera A , Camera B closeup and Camera C total .
So I just grade the ones I need, save the memories and then go next,A,next,B,next,A,next,C and so on.A slice of color…

Going from one 4000 to two doubles your shader piples/cores .
Stay away from the 4800 if you want a future proof system.
And for the money you pay for the old 4800, you better get TWO extra 4000s 🙂PS How sweet would it be to mod the Cubix so it pretends to be a Mac card and then load it with Quadro 6000s or just 580s

Hi there,
I graded a feature last fall on a proper P3 calibrated NEC NC2000C.
The wonderful thing is that the lab we used also had a P3 starting point and could provide us with a LUT that emulated their printing process from LOG material.
I agree that 709 is so close to P3 no one will see a difference.
If you are handling eLin media you will be fine without a LUT.
I just got test prints from ARRI back and they are look identical to what we saw in the grading cinema.A slice of color…

The ” off the shelf” Arri LUTs from the Lut builder are probably just much much better .
The vectors are bent in very elaborate ways to get the most out of every channel.
Be sure to make yourself a nice 64k cube as starting point and then add your secret sauce .A slice of color…
