And the Rode and the AT 0897 are indoor or Outdoor?
What qualifies a shotgun mic for indoor and Outdoor?
What are the different qualifies needed?

What about the Rode NTG-3 or the Audio Technica at-0897.
    Are they any good?

    Thanx.

Yes, Ty, i agree from A to Z. I just Shot a Movie using the 416 and I fell in love. Amazing warm 70s sound. Totally loved it, but when I saw the price on eBay, my smile faded.
I know, you have to invest to get something good, but what can I do – I’m a film maker in the middle east- meaning I operate on the bottom line of the food chain ;-).
Any suggestion of a mic in the 200$ area, that sounds a bit close to the 416?

    Sascha.

    Hi Ty,

Thanx for The warm welcome. I read a lot of good things about the cemc-6 version of the Felio.
But good to hear in time, that it’s not.
What can you recommend? A shotgun mic, that can go on the camera but also good for boom. With a warm sound and affordable for a small indie film maker like me?
    Thanx for advice.

I read, that the Peluso Mic CEMC-6 is made from parts of the Feilo. If that is true, is the original Chinese Feilo as good as the Peluso, which I read is a terrific microphone.

I use FCP 6.0.6. SD Footage is from my Panasonic DVX100 – specially in things like striped t-shorts, lines, fences, I can see the quality differences.
It’s not too big, but I am a detail freak with slight autistic tendencies in those things.

DVDSTP is just not optimized for encoding, but it does an ok job.

Thanx. I will keep the Bitrate calculator in mind.
I did find a decent adjustment, which worked.
Average Bitrate 4,4 Max 6,6 audio 224 kbs VBR
    It looks great.
DVDSTP I never use for encoding, to much artifacts, specially with SD Footage.

    Thanx for your hint.

I hope, it’s the FCP Monitoring issue then – cannot check it right now, since I have an external Monitoring system just for the online. Fields it cannot be since the entire footage is shot in 25 Progressive, both SD & HD.

No, it’s the other way around: I ad HD material to an SD timeline.
Still know what it could be?
