    haha, correction, warping*

well, the comp settings are set automatically to the .mov file dropped into the project panel.

    So here goes,
    preset to: HDV 1080 25
    width: 1440
    height: 1080
    aspect ratio locked: 4:3
pixel aspect ratio says: HDV 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 (1.33)
    25 fps

so I want the final export to be the same as the footage brought in, but only that damn circle is being squished.

Am guessing its a problem with the PAR and the HDV footage? just cant figure why only the shape layer is being affected and not the text or footage.. Or i just sound like Im talking outta my a**

thank you so much for your patience and help!!!

Thats what Id hoped, but final cut doesnt even recognize the files when pointed to the external SD card when trying to Log and Transfer.

    thank you, great tutorial,

the footage is not prores and so I think were looking to see how to change the codec to what final cut will recognize.

As I mentioned, I didnt really know what I was talking about : )

Ive gathered FCP doesnt recognize footage because its not pro res and the 720p footage shot (not sure of the exact codec)

So Im looking to see the best way to transcode it and then drop it into FCP.

  • I am also having issues trying to move a layer containing a mask to realign it with the image it is masking, however no matter what I highlight or not it always adds a keyframe in the position.

what exactly is the Pan Behind tool, and can that help me?

    any help is greatfull

    Thanks for the quick response!
I tried pasting the file onto a solid however I think because I had used a brush for my paths it wasn’t accepting that in AE, so it ended up looking like every thing was doubled stroked. By any chance you wouldn’t happen to know a way around that, I am not sure if there is.
I did eventually find the continuous rasterize button which does give me the quality i was looking for!

    thanks again
