    Hello,
I am trying to do the same thing – erase black from the end of the timeline. I know a workaround is just to sub clip what I want from the sequence. However, for some reason, creating an in and out point in the timeline at the end where there is dead space, and pressing extract or delete is not working. I have never seen this before. Not sure if this is just a bug or if there is a workaround for when this occurs.
    Thanks,

What did you do to fix this? My clips are not seeing A2 from the MXF files.

The desktop video driver 10.1 only comes with a plug-in for Avid MC 7. However, there is a compatibility chart that says 8 should work and I don’t see anywhere about an updated avid 8 plugin.

I am not on a unity/isis setup. I am just using a 2.0 T G-drive. It does not only happen when scrubbing. It is mainly after I copy MXF files into the proper folder structure, but it does seem to glitch when I open a new sequence (after the copy) and try to play certain clips. The media is on the G-drive. I am using Black Magic to link audio to the stereo speakers and video to a LG monitor, but even with that off the problem still occurs. The sequence does have effects, but even when rendered the problem occurs. We are using mostly MXF files. I AMA’ed some files but then transcoded them BEFORE using them in a sequence. Some people have told me that Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks doesn’t play nice with Avid 7.0.4. However, Avid has made a statement that it works. If it is Mavericks that is the problem, I am not sure how to fix it as Mavericks is the operating software the mac came with. Downgrading to Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is not recommended. Have you ever downgraded a Mac software? Crazy how having the newest/latest software, which should be a good thing, could be the issue.

    Hi,
I know this is an old post, but this isn’t working for me. I am not able to use Media Tool to view .mxfs in my Avid MediaFiles folder. Any suggestions?

So there is no way to fix it in FCP? I just have to delete all the edits I did? That stinks but I know it is my fault for not doing it right in the first place. I am using FCP 7. Are there certain settings for MPEG Streamclip or Compressor? I have both but haven’t used them recently. You can do them in batches, correct?
    Thanks,
    SF
