  • all i can think is that the codec isn’t compatible with FCP (AVI codec still Imbedded in the MPEG stream) the 422 is grate do it with compressor though so its native to the FCP system. Check also your setup in FCP makes sure to set it up beforehand to be 1920X 1080p @ 422 you can change that in the user preferences. And make sure the file extension is .mov makes it easier for render and play back for FCP. FCP is grate but lets make it easier on the system. ^_^

    ok…
my first question is why Photoshop????? when Aftereffects at that resolution gives you the same if not better rotoscoping capabilities than Photoshop and if you import it @ (5184 x 3156) you can just change the composition settings to (720 or 768 ? x576) and still keep the hi ress….. you might want do the settings change before you start to rotoscope because of frame loss and audio framework displacements you can avoid that buy doing the frame rate change and composition settings first

  • ok you have 2 options
1 pass it through compressor as a 1080p mov
2 import it to adobe aftereffects and export it as a lossless + alpha and audio file in a 9120 by 1080p mov file and then import it into fcp
FCP cannot cope with .AVI files

I am trying out the burn your sequence onto a standard DVD (AVCHD format) that will play on a Blu-Ray player.

But I don’t understand how that Works do I need to set it up some way in compressor???? Or in FCP or After Effects
my sequences are about 12 to 15 min long so Im guessing it should work????

    thx

i understand that point but when your audience is 6 ft from a 20mt screen ya kind of want to have a hi def resolution especially when there is text subtitles or logos involved you tend to have a fathering affect on the edge of the logos or text which is part of the reason I want to burn in HD
