Just a tip from when I helped rewire a machine room that used CAT5 Geffens. Do yourself a favor and run one or two extra CAT5 cables to each room. It’s cheap and much easier to run it all at once as a bundle than a year or so later when something fails.

So did this FCP upgrade that got released yesterday fix the fudimental problem with FXPlug? Is BCC5FXPlug ready to go, or should we wait on the upgrade till you guys release a patch?

Thanks for responding Peter. Ok here we go, freshly rebooted system.
-create new project
-select AJA Kona3 NTSC 8bit Uncompressed Easy Setup
-create a new sequence
-put :30 of NTSC bars in the timeline (from 00:59:00;02 to 00:59:30;01)
-apply BCC Gaussian Blur (default settings)
-save
-render
-save
-open edit to tape window (laying off to Digibeta, tape already blacked)
-enter 00:59:00;02 as the in point
-drag the sequence to the assemble edit portion of the edit to tape window
-FCP crash

System Specs:
BCC5.0.1 FX Plug and FCP 6.0.1 on a Dual 2.3Ghz PowerPC G5s with 8GB of RAM, AJA Kona3 (v4 Driver), 3.64 TB XRAID RAID5+0 Dual FiberChannel

I hope that is all in information you will need to recreate the glitch. Please let me know if you need any more information or if you find something. For now my workaround is to export the whole sequence as a QT reference movie and then put that in it’s own timeline.

The only real difference is piracy protection. They use two different methods. Oh and I believe they have both been broken already.

So I got a chance to try it out and it works awesome. My work flow is a little different, but all the same principles.

-Capture Video, A1+A2 Stereo, A3+A4 Stereo

-Cut into Sequence

-Select A3+A4 and choose Link from the Modify menu (this will unlink the audio from the video so when you send to Soundtrack things don’t go screwy on you)

-Select A3+A4 and send to Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project

-In Soundtrack choose Process>Invert and Save

-Back in FCP everything should play just fine. You can even select the Video and 2 stereo pairs and relink them.

hey don’t get me wrong, we’d all love splits when we can get them. but you know, sometimes you got what you got and you have to make it the best you can. often this isn’t perfect, but it’s better than nothing.
