I am actually into making explainer video. Using different vectors and illustrations and applying different expressions I feel there could be amazing videos and cartoon created.

I got a feeling tapping the potentials of these menu could not only reduce time but also carve out realistic and interesting videos that looks simple and engaging.

I like to make simple and elegant explainer videos with clear message.

What I am interested in is there are a hell lot of types of expressions which are applicable in different areas with their varieties of functionalists such as layer, properties, footage, lights, camera, Math, Vector etc.

Is there any site in the know that especially deals with this.

I know the basic usage of expressions like wiggle, time, value. These are mostly the derivatives of JS strings. At the moment I am trying to find out podcasts/ videos that shows intermediate to advance level use of different expression language menu.

Please let me know if you know one such.

Hi Don…

I am an Avid user (used FCP long back)and am not very well brushed up with FCP’s folder structure dynamics these days.

I have, on one occasion, transferred the Sony Ex3 footage into an FCP machine when the entire content of the BPAV folder was copied to a folder but not the root folder i.e. BPAV (don’t know why…still a puzzle!).

Now my question is, if a new folder named BPAV is created and the entire content is placed into that folder, will FCP’s log and Transfer function be able to detect that BPAV folder (with its content)and import footage seamlessly?

A light on this would be highly appreciated.

Another issue…there is one file corrupt in a folder. Like in the folder (inside CLPR) no. 170 among the crowd of say 368 folders. Will log and transfer stop at that folder unable to find ‘correct’ file? Is it required to put the remaining folders from i.e. 171 onwards in another BPAV folder (placed inside a differently named folder) and then apply log and transfer function there to detect the BPAV folder with remaining content?

I have thought out this from an analogy of importing tga or png sequence. If there is any number error we have to manage this way.

Hope these do not sound utterly silly as solutions. I just tried to logically analyse thing and find a way out.

It’s ..say…33 sec…where the white figures(alfa?)are dancing.
How to rig this kind of motion…simply using puppet tool and keframe or is there any other simpler way of doing it?

Yes you are right…I am a newbie to AECS4. I tried a bit different.
Instead of creating the mask, I duplicated the text layer, then created a shape from that text and then applied Fast blur.

Last, I took the text layer over the shape layer.
I would render it without the solid underneath and will take alpha. Hope that will work.

Here is a snap what I came up with.

nope…it hasn’t worked…I tried.

point is…it seems to be bleeding in the Avid time line but..does become finer in the Quictime movie (such was the case earlier too).

Long back I did a text work in AE CS4 that went fine even in the Avid time line i.e. sharp, clear and crisp. Unfortunately, I forgot the output module and as you know once rendered the modules can’t be reopened.

Nope…the permission settings are same as that of other working presets.

Then copied the Trapecode HD presets into the CS4..Support files…Presets folder..
Refreshed the Effects and Presets palette and got it listed.

But when i dragged that onto the comp screen, it pops up that message. I reunstalled it but to no avail.
Even I tried with other preset like Mojo downloded from the same link.
It shows the same result.
However…I am downloading it now from the link you mentioned…it appears Mac files…while downloading..
