Hi Jeremy….I did that, I’ve got a Tektronix waveform monitor hooked up the the AJA box and everything is legal and I double checked with FCP’s waveform.. But that’s a good guess because overmodulated text will have the same effect. I even tried putting a brightness/contrast effect of the text file and taking it down a few notches but no luck.

Looks like those FCP files in the trash are project files from the autosave vault. I sure didn’t put them there. They are all recent too…in the last week or so. In the autosave vault itself are older fcp’s from like weeks ago. So what is causing these autosave files to go into the trash? I suspect this is what may be causing the lost render and media files.

Any way to recover things in the trash- it’s easy in windows but I don’t see any way to do it on the MAC desktop.

I’m using a CalDigit HD One and it reports 1.32TB available on a 3.18TB drive. I would think that would be plenty of room left…no?

I just took at look at the trash. It is full of Final Cut Pro Project Files all under 3MB in size. I’m new to Final Cut so I’m not sure what these files are- there are hundreds of them.

Anyway it is files with the FIN-00000xxx designation that FCP is reporting missing.

I don’t know if this is happening on startup or shutdown.

Two questions. Is it safe to reset the preferences in the middle of a project?
How do I do this reset?

Tell me something. When people say right click on something do they mean press control and right click or just right click by itself?

Having just moved over from Windows a right click is a right click. But in the MAC OS it seems you can’t do much by just clicking. You have to also press a key on the keyboard as well. Takes some getting used to.

Right, yes I forgot about the keyframe designations on the timeline. I usually have them turned off unless I need to make an adjustment after the effect has been applied. Not quite as simple and elegant as that other editing program I was using, but then again, with that one you couldn’t adjust the effect right on the timeline.
