  • check the tutorials section. Look or search for flowing title. Change the color from green to red, reduce the glow and you’ve got it.

You could apply shine to a 3d text layer and adjust the source point to achieve the effect in AE.

There’s a gravity script that’s included in the demopalette.jsx scripts. It works very well for this kind of stuff. File>Scripts>Demo Palette.jsx (i think)

I’d try applying the gravity simulation to a null then linking your null to a 3D layer using a value + position expression. Then you could keyframe a bit of extra motion to position that may make it look better. You could also animate the orientation with just a few keyframes to add to the effect.

  • I don’t thing there’s a single click solution. Looks like traditional animation to me. You could do it in AE animating masks or shapes. The puppet tool may help in some cases.

it’s not a tutorial but a thread with a project file and an image. Maybe this is what you’re looking for.

    https://forums.creativecow.net/archivethread/2/343333#344632

when I first started looking at the cow I spent a lot of time searching the forum for things that I wanted to learn how to do and made a list in excel. I still go back to it all the time. In this thread there’s a sample movie and an AE file and there’s the photo that’s used in the aep a little further up.

it’s probably too late now but the easiest way to do this is to track from where you see all corners, then go back and add a few keyframes by hand. If the camera movement is relatively smooth you can probably get it to work right with three or four keyframes.

This is the kind of stuff that Moca is perfect for

    December 11, 2007 at 2:14 pm in reply to: cs3 update/plug-ins question

if you have system compatible plug-ins then you don’t need to copy and paste them into CS3 all you need is a shortcut on a PC or an alias for a mac. I install all my 3rd party stuff that normally goes in the Plug-ins folder in a folder I created in the Plug-ins directory or folder called 3rd party. Then I created an Alias on the Mac or a Shortcut on a PC and moved that to the plug-ins folder of the other version. I actually try and keep the latest versions in the newest app so the alias lives in AE7’s folder.

Some plug-ins are now installing in a common folder in the library so you’ll have to run the installer again.

Again, this works with most. Some do have to be installed in each app and all need to be compatible.

as long as the null is at the same point as the point of interest you can simply use the length arguement:

    length(position, thisComp.layer(“Null 1”).transform.position)

if the null is not then you need to use a little more complicated expression like the one Master Dan has on his site.

how are you looking at the movie? makes a difference. video on an interlaced tv or monitor looks a lot different than video in a web movie. Frame rate makes a difference, speed of movement makes a difference. even data rate makes a difference.

if we knew what your output requirements are, including size and frame rate if it’s for the web, you might get some suggestions that would work. without knowing any of that it would be very difficult to tell you anything meaningful.

Try resetting the background color. You’ll find it under the Composition menu.
