    100B is excellent—a huge step up—-the HVX is a P2 based system and alot more expensive.

    If its 22 year old analog converted to digital, there is very little you can do. Forget about taking out grain, it can’t be done. You can try fiddling with the color curves, color corrector, primary and secondary correctors.

    Yes—you are talking about 1/2″ chips versus 2/3 inch chips.

    Your best bet is to get a broadcast monitor—-You can run it using firewire through a camera that supports passthru, or better yet, your tape deck. Of course, you should calibrate your broadcast monitor.

    This is our first HD camera and we really like it. Nice ergnomics, beautiful images—generaly the SDX900 in HD. I can highly recommend it.
