You mean the deck has a more durable mechanism and can handle a lot of stops and starts? The seller also told me that he just had the deck “realigned” so it’s good as new. What does that mean? I know that it’s a well used equipment because it has been used by a network.

Thanks. I have one more question: I have never edited progressive footages. Always interlaced. If everything is the same (resolution, etc.), will a progressive video be of the same size on a DVD as with an interlaced video. I would like to edit and burn to DVD my next project (about 30 minutes running time).

Thanks! Also, when I look at the viewfinder, the picture looks somewhat dark and a little bit reddish. Transferring the tape to another camcorder to view the shots in it, the picture appears normal (in that other camcorder’s viewfinder). Is the EVF broken, or I just missed doing some color adjustments? Thanks.

Thanks. But does the 24F record full frames like the Panasonic DVX100B’s 24P?

YOu’ve mentioned the verbatim brand. It’s kinda weird. I used Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-R and in all my attempts, all have suffered pixelation and freezing frames. I switched to a generic (1/3 the price of the verbatim) x-media and all the problems were gone. I guess it’s in the kind of media after all. But it’s weird that the expensive DVDs are the ones having problems.

Thanks. We’ll be saving for that lens converter. But for the moment, what off the shelf camcorder do you think has a better depth of field than others? I know it’s not as good as the converter but I’d like to know which among the camera’s in the DVX100 price range has the best DOF.
