Ronaldo,
Thanks for the update. Still hoping to hear from anyone who can shed more light on this topic. Would have thought it to be pretty importatant.

Thanks…..but just can’t seem to locate the “follow the leader” section you refer to. Can you post a direct link?
Came up with a scheme which works. It does not actually visably slide the layer, but it does delay the layer in time.
I added ‘time remap’ to the layers I wanted to slip, and then added the following expression to the time remap properties:
transition=thisComp.marker(1); // using marker 1 in comp to determinine transition
time-transition;So now I just slide the marker and the movies begin at that point. It does not reflect any of the values in the time remap keyframes themselves.
Thanks

I don’t really know the mechanics of texture maps and memory. How will this reduction in AE’s memory use effect large texture maps? Is there some kind of computation to work out the largest maps possible in a given comp?
Thanks,
Russ

Have you had any luck finding the answer?

Thanks. Just trying to keep the render farm simple. With the ‘Watch Folder’ I have no issues with licensing etc, and it works. To be honest, most of what I read about third party render farms for After Effects is not the glowing. When they work, it is generally for window systems. With the ‘Watch Folder’ I have to keep a look out for fonts, but since all the plug-ins and server mounts are always the same, things usually work.

Jon,
Thanks for the quick response.
The reason for having to bounce back and forth a lot is that I am working between Maya, After Effects and Invigorator. I am using using a texture map for the transparency, and previews of texture maps does not always work out. Bascially I am using models out of Maya to place my texture maps back into a Maya scene I have imported back into After Effects. Lots of unknowns here, and like I said…a lot of to and fro stuff. Thanks for the tip on the Fit all option…..would be great if a keyboard shortcut could be added.
Thanks

John,
Thanks for the reply. The use of the materials is great but still does not solve the problem. Things would work for me if invigorator used open paths…but it does not appear to do this.
I have sent my makeup file to your address. Hopefully you can see an easy solution.
Thanks,
Russ
