Yeah I’m sorry but the PC is barely adequate for the work. If use this you must then try lowering the preview resolution or create proxy files from inside Vegas.

I am confident that what is required can be done in Vegas. Unfortunately I so not understand what is meant by ” stretching the edge of the text media”. Elaboration or perhaps a screenshot might prove useful.

So they are looking for 10 bit 422 file format. Try installing Black magics Desktop video which will install a codec with the same specifications as prores, in fact Quicktime will indicate and present that the file is Prores 422 at least it has for myself in such cases. Once installed the codec will sow up in the quicktime section of the render menu. Render a section and send it to the festival for testing. Now before everyone gets exited be aware that Blackmagic Design prefers to work with Apple hardware so the codec they have developed for their recorders work great on a Mac.

[Jamie Carsten] “My one concern about re-sizing in Photoshop prior to importing to Vegas is the loss in quality”

Hi, and yes John is correct in the workflow suggestion. May I suggest exporting an 8 bit .exr file sequence out of Photoshop instead of a jpg sequence. Also, implementing a resolution free compositor such as Boris Red, After Effects, Fusion, Davinci Resolve or even blender will speed up the workflow and lighten the load on Vegas. Three of the tools mentioned are free to use for commercial use. Try Fusion or Resolve.

Try using a solid, any color will do.

  • The question is incomplete, there is no explanation as to the intended purpose of the finished file. Highest quality for what? 172 fps, sounds great but where and what to play it on. Please define purpose for file.

Hi. ok that is a nice image of the preview window and yes the text does appear to be in an unusual orientation. so could we have a look at the text box.
The place where you type including the settings. Also the image need to be large enough as to allow easy identification of all areas.

Perhaps the lock aspect ratio button has been set to off.It cannot be seen in the screen shot so I can only guess. Also the right click menu will allow to match output aspect.
