Did you try setting easy setup to “HDV – 1080i60”?

Have you tried changing the sequence field dominance to none instead of lower?

I would suggest reading the workflows Apple outlines in the whitepaper that is included with FCS2 Installer that you download from the RED support page on RED’s website.

I’d love to hear what you’re leaning towards after you read that.

What footage are you dealing with? What frame rate/resolution?

[gunnar Kordestani] “So what would be the purpose to use dvcpro50 for riping a DVD video?”

DVCPRO50 is edit friendly, meaning it plays and edits well in FCP.

What if you redigitize it in sections?

Oh, I’m blind. Here it is on JVC’s website too.

    https://pro.jvc.com/pro/pr/2008/ibc/verite.html

This is the first I’ve heard of them. But they look like a good upgrade to the older JVC monitors. I hope they improved the viewing angle.

Do you have a link to an announcement? Can’t find any info on it?

Are you talking about DV footage or HDV footage. If it’s DV, I’m almost certain that all LP tapes are reduced down to 32K audio instead of 48K. Does HDV even have a LP mode?

You could try extracting the audio in QT player, taking it into Soundtrack Pro, and exporting it as 48k again. Then bring that into FCP and manually merge the clips.

    Might work.
