Is there a way to export video from FinalCut Pro Studio 2 in 4:3 aspect ratio AND progressive? Everything I see is 16:9…This is my first time exporting video from FinalCut, so my apologies for being totally ignorant.

    Thanks in advance,

    James

What footage are you dealing with? What frame rate/resolution?

hi russ, thanks for the reply.

    i’m working with 720×480 DV footage, 30FPS.

the issue is that i have high resolution graphic animations inside the movie that will eventually be displayed on computer monitors, and the interlacing is very visually prominent on them unless i export in a progressive format, in which case they look great. the problem is that i can’t seem to preserve my original aspect ratio while exporting in progressive.

Have you tried changing the sequence field dominance to none instead of lower?
