The camera does have noise that you just learn to live with.

My suggestions to try to minimize it:

    – Overexpose a little. Noise gets really bad if it is underexposed.
    – Don’t boost the gain
    – Be aware of it on set while you can control it.

Other people might be able to add to my list.

If they can just watch a QT file, then do what Walter said. That’s the easiest.

If they inisit on a text file, I would set the gang control to open and just go file by file and paste the text into a document. (or get someone else to do it for you.)

By using gang set to open, you save a lot of clicking around to open the Controls tab.

  • HOLY COW!!!

I’m only at about 4.5/posts per day over the past two months (just got started with looking forward to NAB and I’m hooked now). But at that rate, it would take me almost three years to get as many posts as Jeremy’s got. That’s COWMANIA!!!

Congrats Jeremy and thanks for your help too!

G Chroma Sharpen, G Chroma Sharpen, G Chroma Sharpen. I’ll get that right someday.

    Thanks Graeme!

I’m not aware of any way to do it. I’m really interested to see how the IO HD timecode input will handle time of day timecode. It could open up a lot of workflows.

I use KVM switches to control multiple computers and monitors. It works great and saves a lot of time.

I would apply a 4:1:1 color smoothing filter to the footage before you try to pull the key. FCP has one. Or you could use Nattress Standards Converter to convert to 4:2:2 color space.

But it’s the 4:1:1 color compression that is causing you grief.

HDDVD and AppleTV both use types of H264, but to my knowledge, there are no HDDVD burners.

Welcome to the wonderful world of compression. I hate compression because it talks so much time to try to get something to look better.
