Need to export text to get my subtitled proofed.

This is a ridiculous workflow, but I have to do it.

I’ve tried putting the text in its own sequence and exporting it as an XML, but of course upon opening the XML in word, there’s too much information. I want to be able to export the text ONLY.

    oy.

Does anyone know for sure if I can do it with ‘traffic’?

    or any other ideas?

You could make a quicktime movie with just 2 seconds or less of each text and your client can open that to skim through and read it. They just pause on each title to read.

If they can just watch a QT file, then do what Walter said. That’s the easiest.

If they inisit on a text file, I would set the gang control to open and just go file by file and paste the text into a document. (or get someone else to do it for you.)

By using gang set to open, you save a lot of clicking around to open the Controls tab.

Looks like I may be doing this manually (ugh), so the gang suggestion is very valuable!!! thank you!

    have a look at https://www.spherico.de/filmtools/
TitleExchange might give you what you want (not sure as I don’t use it) and a bit more functions re subtitles. you can download a demo too.

Export the XML as XML V1, Then use Lemony (PC) to edit / convert etc to text. Works like a charm. There are other FCP XML converters, but lemony seemsto work best for me.
