Yup I did figure it out. Here is the clip -> https://www.russellheimlich.com/videopages/hotweb.html
Making the dolls unfold was pretty simple. I think I did it in After effects. For the globe morph I used a transition right inside of Sony Vegas, my NLE of choice. Vegas lets you control the progress of a transition and there is a free ball transition plugin (https://www.mikecrash.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&id=70) that did the morphing part for me. I paused the transition at the point when it makes a complete ball before it goes bouncing off the screen. Next I grabbed images from NASA of the Earth slowly rotating -> https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/vis/a000000/a002700/a002709/ and dissolved the doll-ball into the globe making sure both were the same size.

I prefer to use Aptana http://www.aptana.com Many call it the Open Source Dreamweaver.

While Vegas does have some looping capabilities, Acid is dedicated to it. Previosu versions were dedicated to just making music. Acid 6 just announced that you can do multi track editing just like in Vegas. The two products are slowly merging into one.

You should always schedule time to “noodle” around you’ll find that it will open up more creative doors for you and your work will improve.

Ok this effect is pretty easy.
First part-
Add the light rays filter to your text event.
Create two key frames for this effect, one at the beginning and another at the place in time where you want it to stop.
In the first key frame change the position of the effect all the way to one side. In the 2nd keyframe move the position to the complete opposite side. Also change the intensity to 0.Play it back and you should see the basic thing i did. Tweak it a little to your liking.
Second part-
Same thing as the light ray filter but use the lens flare-> Sunburst effect instead. Voila. There you have it.
I can’t believe i let that one slip.

Yup, using the sunburst preset an animating it’s intensity and position cretes that effect. I wonder how that slipped by me.

I just happened to download this one day and it had a red=pass preset, so i just dragged and dropped it on. I don’t know if there is any real advantage other than it is simple. Ofcourse, you could always make a preset for the secondary color corrector. Below are the advantages of his plugin quoted from his site:
# Directly adjust Reds, Greens, Blues, Cyans, Magentas and Yellows without having to “pick” the colors. All six color vectors can be adjusted independently using only one instance of the plugin. (Sony’s secondary corrector would require up to SIX instances!)
# Currently allows Hue, Saturation and Lightness (HSL) adjustment.
# Invert your selection to adjust everything but a certain channel.
# 32-bit floating-point precision used internally for high quality (accelerated by SSE/3DNow!).Russell

Yup it sure is possible. Check out a video i did with this technique:

Sorry for the long black in the beginning. I uploaded the wrong file.
I have a free filter called Aav6cc. It had a preset for filtering out everything but red and i just dropped it on and was good to go. Very lucky for me how it worked out with my project.
Here’s where you can get it -> https://www.moosehill.se/

Question: I haven’t noticed much of a speed burst with my 3.06ghz HT enabled processor. Is there a patch out there that can yield any performance benefits?
