I’m guessing that you have InDesign installed on the PC? The only real problem you might run into is that your fonts might not match. If you are using OpenType fonts (otf), and they are installed on both computers, there shouldn’t be a problem. If you are using Postscript, and True Type, that’s where the problems come into play. If that’s the case, you could convert your fonts to otf using a program like, “FontXChange”. https://www.fontgear.net/fontxchange.html

I had the ATI Radeon HD 3870. But now I installed the ATI Radeon HD 5770. It should run fine on your system.

Something I posted over on LAFCPUG of my findings:

I just tested the new driver out, and it worked perfectly. Who’d a thunk! I use the Matrox Mini. I hooked up a Sony 40″ HDTV. Great picture! What I found really really interesting is that the footage looks the same on my computer monitor (The viewer in FCPX) as it does on the HDTV. I never did any color calibration yet. Also when scrubbing/playing “small filmstrips views”, and scrubbing/playing the footage in the “Project Library”, you can view it on your HDTV… Nice!

I toggled the transparency grid button like you said and the background stayed black. I made another comp and this time it went from black to checkerboard. Rendered it and dropped it into FCP X and all is right with the world once again.
