I made the switch to Premiere recently from FCP 7 (Apple, why?), and really like Premiere in general. However, I wanted to feed HDMI to an external monitor (Panasonic P55VT30). So I picked up a Matrox MXO2 Mini. I’ve had all kinds of issues with getting the video out of Premiere through the Mini. Incidentally, I tested the Mini with FCP and it works great.

With Premiere, the audio is always slightly out of sync on either the computer monitor, or the plasma. The sequence will sometimes lose connection with the Matrox presets and give me an error. A 23.98 fps sequence won’t output to the plasma (though it’s just fine with FCP). I’ve followed the steps given to me by Matrox and that resets the system, but it’s a hassle to do all the time.

Also, the sound output from the Mini is really high.

Is anyone having good luck with the Mini and Premiere? Is there a better solution out there?

Have you updated your Matrox mini driver to 2.3.3?
