August 26, 2009 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Rendered AVI file playing in Slow Motion???

Oh OK. I imported some image sequences (30 images) but they played SOOO fast.

When I did the “time stretch” it looked perfect but like I said on played back it reallllyyy slowed down and what was set as a 8 second file played back at around 12 second.

How do I stretch them out to play slower? Meaning make a 1 second (30 image) sequence into a 4 second (30 image) sequence without doing the time stretch?

Should I create 4 seperate images for each image in the time sequence? Meaning. Image01a, Image01b, Image01c, Image01d. All of which are the same image but will now run 4 frames total.

Is there another way to stretch the frames?

    Hi Ben,

The show was shot in HD 1080i. I know that SD captions don’t work when encoded to HD decks. Do you have an HDcam compatable system?

    Thank you!

    Hi Nicole,

I tried your advice about removing attributes but I still get the same problem.

Does it matter that these are text layers? It seems graphics layers work just fine but text layers lose their properties (size and placement).

    I must be missing something.

    Thank you!

Wont that convert it to letterbox? Is there a certain setting to avoid it going letterbox?

    Hi Walter,

I actually used the guides while building the project. I just want to preview how the video will look once it is broadcast and watched on an SD TV. Is there a way to export the HD video from FCP but have it play on a standard TV without resizing to fit the screen. Basically fabricating a broadcast scenario.

    Thank you

August 6, 2009 at 1:49 pm in reply to: Solution needed for Final Cut file usage in AE

No need to worry “Buddy”. I’m not selling my services. I work for myself.

I was told AE was perfect for my current project’s needs by someone on this forum but it turns AE is not the right program. I’m not using it to edit video or even keep video. Just trying to find a program where I can insert video AND audio and use a reference to build the graphics around. The project is all based on timing (audio and video cues). The video/audio tracks would not be part of the final export, just used as reference.

Looks like I need to find a program better suited for my needs. There may not be a program that can do this, so I may have to do it it all in fincal cut.

If anyone knows a program under which you can preview video and audio in real time while building graphics to suit based on timing cues, please let me know.

    Thank you

He is editing on FC (on Mac) and I am doing the AE (on a PC). Could that be what is posing the problem?

August 2, 2009 at 8:19 pm in reply to: How to import large video files into AE?

    GREAT INFO! thank you guys!

I am reiceving files from my editor who is using Final Cut (on a Mac). Up until now he has been sending me .mov files with H264 codec.

After reading your posts, it seems this compressed format is what is causing the slow issues.

The source video is HD 1920 x 1080 from P2 cameras. Then editied in Final Cut. Each segment he is sending me is roughly 5 – 7 minutes in length.

What kind of rendered file should I ask for from my editor?

    Thank you!!!
    Rudy
