What you described has happened to me with Mp3s that’s why I say it.
I would take the music offline in the new sequence and then relink and see if it fixes it. Then at a least you have an easy work around.
Make the music clips independent in the new sequence if you dont want to take all the music clips offline in the other sequences.
Why is everyone referring to rendered media? Why are the audio clips need to be rendered if they are AIFFs, maybe I’m missing something?
Thank you

I mean if the timecode or at least the timing of the tape capture is the same or close you could dup the sequence, make the clips independent by right clicking on them in the timeline, taking them offline and relinking to the tape footage. It’s a bit of a crap shoot if the timecode is not close.
If there are a lot of cuts make a offline version of the sequence by right clicking on the sequence in the browser. Then relink to tape footage. If the timecode is not close or the same it’s not gonna work tho.
Brute force: if the trt is the same you could paste the cuts over the top of the footage, make every cut one frame, then grab all the one frame cuts and drag them down over the footage. So cuts on V2 tack and footage on V1 track. Drag one frame cuts from V2 to V1 there by cutting up V1 (footage) at the cuts inpoints. Then clean it up by deleting the one frames and dragging the footage over one frame.
Understandy?

Is it mp3 music? FCP does not like mp3s even though it says it does. I always convert to AIFF.
What happen when you take the audio in the new sequence offline then relink it?

May 3, 2012 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Somehow have turned off the light produced from lights in the editor view?I didn’t see any light not illuminating the scene. I using R12 .048xx build.
I opened the scene and everything was working fine… The only thing I saw was in one of your composite tag you used “include” I find that option causes weird things to happen because it absolutely excludes everything else. I sure you know, but it has F’d me a couple times.
Interesting the way you used mospline to build the book:-)

It could just be a bug. I have had to replace things before to get them to work.
Do they work when you render? I have had negative lighting like that in the editor that renders fine. Particularly when using hdri and a single light source, it show no illumination until I render.

Ya that’s my solution too. It is sucky, really sucky. I am going to try to update my codecs and try to swap them around and see if newer or older codecs work.
It’s a friggen crap shoot. I rendered three movies last night and one out of the three corrupted.
I talked to a IT guy who puts systems together, he’s got crazy knowledge … he suspects it was a matter of packets being dropped at first. Ethernet connections are not really meant for this kind of throughput. All the same my throughput is excellent, but technically we are supposed to use fiber. I guess fiber does not break the info up like Ethernet protocol.
Like I said, I have my suspicions with the QT 32 server that adobe clearly added to afx 10 as an external program to assemble the movies, and it’s ability to keep up.

February 1, 2011 at 4:12 pm in reply to: ProRes from FCP to AE crashes on import ?!! ( CS5 )Can you open the movies in quicktime? They may have been corrupted by after effects. AE does not seem to like pro res especially when you render to something other than a local disk.
Ill throw this out there… if you are rendering anything outside of 8bit you need to change the pro rez codec to reflect that.
Good luck.
