  • ProRes from FCP to AE crashes on import ?!! ( CS5 )

I’m able to import ProRes 422s that cam out of mark ii via compressor, but not the slow-mo ones that cam out of AE then edited in FCP and now i can’t import them back into AE. crashes every time. I’ve tried everything. Used Kronos at 60%. Working on mac pro 64bit/16gb ram.
nothing running in background, open gl is off, so is multiprocessing.

Can you open the movies in quicktime? They may have been corrupted by after effects. AE does not seem to like pro res especially when you render to something other than a local disk.

Ill throw this out there… if you are rendering anything outside of 8bit you need to change the pro rez codec to reflect that.

    Good luck.

    Thank you

Quicktime can handle the files no problem.
But wait a minute! I thought ProRes was the way to go?
What are people using in AE??

I use ProRes 422 in FCP all the time..
