What do you mean you want to nudge them up/down, but not in the timeline?

You can select the compound clip and , will nudge it one frame to the left while . will nudge it 1 frame to the right. Is that not what you’re asking?

Sorry, I misread your post where you stated it wasn’t a multicam.

Yes, inside the angle editor, select the angle you want to be your monitoring angle If you click on the little rectangle TV icon at the left of the track it will make that track the monitoring angle. Or you can click on the down arrow next to the angle name and select “Set Monitoring Angle” You want to set the monitoring angle on a angle that you know is in sync.

Then you select the clip in the other track that you need to get in sync, and click on the down arrow of track at the left side, and select to Sync Selection to Monitoring Angle. If your monitoring angle is a good source clip, it should move your selected clip in sync. You’ll need to do this for each clip that you need to sync to the monitoring angle.

    Hope that helps.

Is this a multicam clip that you are wanting to add a new audio track to? See if this helps.

August 3, 2014 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Can’t paste color attributes in 10.1.2?

As stated in another thread, FCPX 10.1.2 has a NASTY Pasting Attributes Bug, and it’s easy to replicate. If you haven’t heard about it, seen it and or reported it to Apple please be aware of it and report it, it could really bite you without you realizing it.

Although it’s not limited to copying and pasting attributes in multicam edits via the angle editor, that’s where I first replicated the bug, while making color changes to a clip in the angle editor. If I copy the color attribute and past it to other selected clips in the same angle, it appears that the clips have accepted the CC attributes when playing it from the angle editor or even when viewing the multicam in a new project timeline. But unless you first tweak the attribute settings in the clips you pasted them to, they don’t come across in the export. In an attempt to troubleshoot it, I’ve tried it first without rendering the project before export and again with rendering the project before export and it doesn’t make any difference.

Here is the proven workaround. After you select the clips and paste your CC attributes, but before you unselect the clips, toggle off and on the color effects switch. This will insure the corrections will flow through during the export/share process.

Also, be aware that this in not just a color attribute bug, it will occur after pasting any effects attributes so you will need to toggle off and on the subject effect in the same fashion.

That’s ingenious Bill. this is done only with reference to the synchronizing feature and not multicam?

August 3, 2014 at 3:19 pm in reply to: Can’t duplicate a project in 10.1.2

I have created a library template that I use for every new wedding I need to edit. The library contains a project template that contains pre-established smart collections and keyword collections and structured with pre-established folders to hold specific collections.

When Im ready to start editing a new wedding project, I’ll first create a new library for my wedding, then copy my wedding template project from my library template to my newly created library. Then I’ll start importing media to the pre-established keyword collections in their pre-established folders as appropriate. This keeps all of my wedding libraries/events uniform.
