The problem with manual audio settings is that if you are moving while shooting you can’t monitor the levels. I always shoot in auto mode and have never once had bad audio. This resulted from shooting in manual mode in school and getting messed up big time because I did not have time to monitor the levels as I moved around a band.

Hmmm, now I have a question about all this. I have just used XDCAM Transfer for all downloading, sending the files to two seperate drives. If one drive got an error it would seem so remote as to be rediculous that you could get two drive errors in a row as long as you download the cards directly and don’t just copy the first drive over to the second. If there was an error on both drives of the same file wouldn’t that mean the card had the problem and CRC would not have been able to save you? This method does save a huge amount of time and has never failed me. Also, what does CRC do if it finds an error? Thanks guys!

I never figured it out but it drifted on several clips in a long project I did last year. I had 12 and 16 bit audio on the timeline and all the 12 bit drifted out of sync.

Goto dell.com and search for “monitor”. There are several large ones for less than $300.

Yes, that would most likely be it. Try removing the filter and re-rendering the sequence. I think you will find it takes care of the problem. Good luck!

The problem is selecting the deinterlace filter. It makes images softer. Just choose the progressive option in Compressor and you should be fine. I use it all the time and it works great. I have never used the deinterlace filter.

The only thing I can think of is make sure you put the card in before you open Clip Browser. Have you tried using XDCAM Transfer? It might work, give it a try.

Also, you need to go to the Easy Setup and choose an HDV preset BEFORE you start your capture. Then you should get a connection with your camera. If you set up a sequence manually and then try to capture it does not work. I had the same problem. Do the Easy Setup routine and it should work.

Did you shoot in 12 bit or 16 bit audio? I have had 12 bit drift out of sync but not 16 bit.
