Tom, thanks for your input. I will give it careful consideration. I am just a “one man band” but keep fairly busy. Are you going to NAB this year? I will be at the Adobe display waiting impatiently for PP 6.0 to be introduced!

Hmm, my workfow is as follows due to cost. I import all footage to a G-Safe then edit and save the projects on it so I always have a backup of everything. I use RAID 1 which is fast enough for at least 3 streams of HD in real time. I only export what file type I need at the moment so I don’t waste drive space. I never delete any footage and it is always available either in the project or just reading it from the drive. Is this a bad idea? Not sure why I would want a large master file if I can just export from the timeline to a different format or codec if needed in the future.

I will update this when I export which will be a few days yet as other projects are on the table first. It will also be only a DVD export so keep that in mind.

Have not exported yet. Still have the closing credits to do. I also need about 6 more slides that the client has not given me yet. Done soon though.

Drag the complete BPAV folder into XDCAM Transfer. Then you should see your clips and be able to change them to .mov files. I just use Transfer without going the Clipbrowser route but many people will say this is dangerous because you can’t verify the copy like you can with Clipbrowser.

Already switched to PP and have no inclination to go back. Can’t trust Apple anymore and Adobe is open about there plans for the future. PP works great for me on a PC. Bye, bye Apple.
