Eric,
I do have thumbnails unchecked.Jack and Michael, please open another post for your conversation.
Besides the fact that is creating confusion if someone is trying to answer my question. If someone is going to learn from your dialogue or search for a solution one might not be able to, since it is in the wrong conversation,. -
Thank you guys,
but my question was about length of save time in resolve and how to make it faster, not which system better in finishing and output –
should I change the post name to ‘The reason we are NOT buying a full DaVinci control surface is…’ to get response to this question…
?🙂
Any way I think save time is more connected to the amount of still in the still store rather length of sequence.
In my case, 20 minutes 3 act show with 900 edits (repeating shots between acts) creating a project per act is not something that make sense from grade management. So making save time shorter, especially in supervised session with client is a key. (and much needed improvement for Mac based systems)Ronen

Are you using the light version?
I don’t think a project per reel is a productive workflow.
What do you do on a feature? to much prep work and checking when resolve do it all for you in one project, but that doesn’t work as fast or well if you need to move grades from project to project especially with tape-less media.I am going to test it on another setup and see if its any better.

January 11, 2013 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Move timeline from project to the next (all within Resolve). You are correct, you can only save projects, and can’t share the time line. – That will be a great feature request!
You might check to see if you have all your grades as local if AFF round-trip remembers the tracking info.
You might be able to do what you want with Shared Databases and remote grading ? (which I think you are doing something like that).
That way you can work in two locations and update the same project and timelines.Ronen

All your information within the timeline should stay intact.
Make sure that you are on the correct Remote or Local grade per shot in your timeline. You can test it by ‘saving as’ and exporting/reimporting and checking that nothing is missing.

January 11, 2013 at 4:21 pm in reply to: Conform page – No image of the timeline on the recorder side.Yes!
Is that a ‘normal’ behavior? I need to push the play each time I am loading a sequence and offline clip. (both sides will be dark until I hit the play)
Thank you.

The only issue is that Avid and Resolve are not using the same driver version at the moment for the graphics card.
So you can potentially expect some performance issue. On the Avid side it’s slower render times, and lag in system response.

October 16, 2012 at 5:45 pm in reply to: Any DaVinci Resolve users have Encore CS6 for authoring Blu-ray videos?Micheal seriously ?!?
I too am in the process of making a blu-ray and much appreciated Joseph respond to you.
However, Sescha is right, this is the resolve thread, Cow has a Encore thread for that … and one of the benefits of asking a question in the right area is that other people can look in the future and learn from your finding.

you can try https://www.spherico.de/filmtools/TitleExchange/ for the subtitle translation, its the most comprehensive software but cost money for the full version.
test of 50 subtitles is free.
for the Asian text i found some font that work like the Kozuka Gothic for JAPANESE or Adobe Fan Heiti or Hiragino for Chinese.
Encore is still light years from being a solid application for DVD OR Blyray authoring.

Hi Lisa,
I am using https://www.michaelcinquin.com/tools/subtitles/fcp_vers_adobe_encore
to convert the text for Encore. Not sure if that helps you at this point.
I am having another issue, which you might be able yo help :
Some of the characters show as Squares in Encore.
Any tips on how to get that fixed?Ronen
