I like the idea of the coiled up cable on the camera mic. I usually use a wireless lav
I produce a pet show and sometimes we have a reality segment. Thats when I need to catch unexpected sound bites from a new person in the scene. We do not have the budget for a sound guy.

I been having a similar problem too. I use just about all Xdcam footage shot on an EX3.
On Leopard I would get the occasional crash, but after I up graded to SL I get drop frames every 2 seconds I play video, then it crashes. After rebooting it seems to play OK for about 20 minutes, then the drop frames start. They kinda ramp up, as in , first drop frame, I can hit the “OK” button on the warning window and play video for a while, but soon it’s less and less time between drop frame warnings. Then it gets so bad I can not even play video (in timeline, and viewer) for more than 2 seconds. I have tried new projects with only one clip in it, changing my electrical source, different media drives, turning off the Kona LHe,(AV play back set to none) and no joy. Next Ill try different codecs. My System:

Your right I have been using this camera for a year and I used xdcam transfer the whole time, I totally forget about clip browser, thanks for the reminder and getting me back on track.

When you say clip browser do you mean the software xdcam transfer or is there a program for transfer would not import the clip and I needed the SXS stick for my next shoot. So my only way of getting the files off the stick was to drag and drop.
Now is there a way to get that last clip imported or do I have to wait for the up grade or us and older OS?Mac Quad Intel 14 gigs ram

Yes I am on SL on a Mac, sorry about that.
I only dragged the BPAV folder on the drive as a back up because on off to a shoot and need to wipe out my card. I use xdcam transfer for importing.
So dose this mean I SOL until they come up with the fix.
I am leaving for about 5 hours thanks for the reply.

Ah
I have not got total success yet. Only one file can be viewed in the XDCAM transfer. Does this mean all the other file are corrupt and no good. How much did it cost to recover and where did you go for your Q time files?
Ill be out for a few hours

Thanks for the info on RescuePro. It worked great and the tech support was very good, in fact right after I downloaded the trial version they called me to ask if I had any questions.
Now that I have a bunch of mp4, mp3 and a few swf files where can I find the info on how to re-wrap them so they work in FCP? Do these files sound like the right ones?

Thanks Bob for taking the time to check out my youtube. About half of the episodes are in HD because I just up-graded to the EX3. Thanks for the contact info and ideas, I am going to start on them after New Years.
Thanks again
