Sorry, they are Canon HF G10’s with a Blackmagic HDMI to SDI Converter with SDI. I guess it would have to be a SDI run all the way to the switcher.

The cameras on wireless will actually be our focus for most of the production so if that is the case I would rather it use wires or potentially another solution.

Is there any other way that you guys recommend getting a camera signal from one room to another? It will probably be about 300ft. I wanted to try and do wireless but it seems that it probably won’t work unless I purchase equipment that will cost way too much for our budget.

I had no idea the time would automatically be shifted, that’s perfect. Thanks for the input!

All for inputs are via HDMI, 2 Canon HF G10 and 2 PCs. The output will be HDMI to an active HDMI Splitter to TVs and another PC with an Intensity Pro (we’ve had it for a while so no sense purchasing another capture card just for SDI right?). There might be a few HDMI to SDI converters in the mix. I’m not sure if there is a way to genlock HDMI sources.

    Thanks for the feedback.

My sources will be 2 Canon HF G10’s, and 2 PCs with HDMI output so I won’t be able to genlock anything. I suppose I’ll have to buy two delayers for Left/Right because I’ll be doing a production around gaming and audio orientation is a major component.

  • I read somewhere on this forum from Ankit Patel (Blackmagic Design’s Switcher Manager) that the application is lightweight and doesn’t use many resources as it just sends a signal to the switcher box and the box itself does all the work for you. With that said I believe you would easily be able to run the application and capture at the same time on the same machine.

  • Did you try updating everything to the latest software and firmware for the hardware?

I believe each of the following adds 1 frame of delay (I could be totally wrong):

    1. DVE effect
    2. Un-synced sources
    3. Converter boxes (ex. HDMI to SDI)
