What a surprise, a camera that sells for under $10,000 that does much of the feature sets found in $60,000 cameras.

Were corners cut to do it? You betcha…

Were those corners enough that it puts it beyond your usefulness? You be the judge…

I have been talking with one of the Cow leaders who has been using one for some time now and he’s a happy camper. Does he think it’s a perfect camera? Hardly. But is he impressed with it? Absolutely.

Some of the whiners in this forum make me think that I am glad I am not your kid, you’d have thrown ’em out with the bath water because they weren’t born running a marathon or being a real estate tycoon or a doctor.

Like you, RobotHero, I thought it was too smooth to be stop motion. Like Steve, I felt that it used animated masks and that was my first thought as to how I’d tackle the design myself when I first looked at it. Likely, I’d use animated masks and precomp so that I could duplicate it easily, tweak a few mask shapes in the duplicates and have numerous snowflakes — tweaking the size, placement and rotation. Adding particles for the snowflake “volume” — following a few mask shape tweaks on the precomp layers — and you have the illusion of a winter wonderland

I am curious why you’d use shatter? I guess I am just not getting my head wrapped around your idea. Would you mind trying a shot at a second time of explaining your reasoning? I’d appreciate it.

Yes, Enzo is great. DVD Studio Pro simplifies many parts of the DVD production process but there is still a lot of techno voodoo involved in creating DVDs and it is something that you will not learn without a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

You may wish to ask your question in the Cow’s DVD Studio Pro forum (if you have DVDSP) or in the iDVD forum here at the Calf if you do not.

Hi Bob,

We’ve been working on this for some time and will implement it in the future. It’s never been one of our top priorities but we agree with you that it would be nice.

Why it’s never been a top priority is that in many forums which allow this function, you get someone who comes in and makes a post and causes some trouble or instigates a situation wherein a bunch of people respond — and then the originator edits or removes their original post making the thread look rather nonsensical because the thing that started it all is now gone.

So we have been developing the edit function to allow edits but only for 10 minutes or until someone posts a responce, which then locks it.
