We do not have the system set to delete old posts, as over the years we have seen some users start flame wars, make brash claims that get shot down by others, and then they want to remove their post that started it all — leaving the boards looking crazy as readers then look at things completely out of context.
We have our system set to give users a way to preview their posts. If a post is made, then for 30 minutes or until someone responds to it, there is an “Edit your post” link available when you return to your post. But there is no provision made for users to delete their posts.
We have a policy statement of our terms and conditions and users are free to read them before joining the site.

That is probably high, Mark. But even if it were half to a third of that or less, Image Lounge never sold very well — which was sad as they were a great set — so recovering the investment would be highly unlikely.

Even when it was completely in limbo and was not even a currently shipping product held by anybody, Adobe didn’t scarf it up and add it to AE. Now that Red Giant holds it in quasi-limbo, I doubt that its future will change little — if at all. Like Jens, I find that sad as Stoney Ballard wrote some great plug-ins with Image Lounge. At one time ImLo were some of my favorite plug-ins. I lost touch with them years ago.
I wish Adobe would buy Image Lounge but I am not holding my breath waiting for it to happen and surely wouldn’t bet on it.

Again: This is ONLY true when dealing with compressed formats like MP3. Uncompressed audio formats like AIF (Windows), AIFF (Mac), and uncompressed WAV files are all fine and offer not an ounce of trouble.
Why insist on recompressing an already compressed format — and then wonder why it gives problems???
Don’t do it and it won’t…
I have used AE since 1994 and I have never had audio issues. Ever. Methinks the problem may lie with the user in this case.

You are not hallucinating, Del. The links on the forums list page do not change color any longer. I did it as I didn’t like the colors changing and thought it looks better without the traveled links color shift. Getting to design things the way I like them is one of the perks of writing the checks to pay for all this. ;o)
It’s all going to shortly change again in the very near future, Del, and the forums gateway page is going to give way to a new navigation system that is way more “new millennium” than the old 90s forums directory scheme that we’ve been using since the mid-90s.

Yes, you are off moderation now. We do not automatically approve accounts after the first post, we usually wait a post or two to see what type of posts the user makes. We work hard to make sure that this site is full of useful information and one of the ways that we accomplish this, is that we do not automatically unmoderate accounts when they are first added as many sites do. It makes a new member’s first few posts experience a short delay but we are quick with approvals and in the end our site membership appreciates the fact that it all produces a site without all the spam, flame wars and other stuff that most forums are full of.
