$10 says you are on a Mac. And did I mention in the past 20 minutes how much I hate the way that sometimes — for seemingly unknown arcane and obscured reasons known only to coding elves — the Mac will create locked folders and nested files. Opening and unlocking just the nested files won’t work. You must also set the read/write permissions for the folder also. And don’t even get me started on how you sometimes even have to do things one-at-a-time even though it looks like you can set the nested permissions as a group by clicking on the folder and telling it to set permissions on all the objects contained in the folder — but don’t believe it.
Rant off.

PS: If all else fails, drag the folder and files up to your desktop, that too sometimes works.

I hate to correct a dear friend, but a pimp sells you out to others — say, as your “marketing representative.” In this case I think it more accurate to say “Uncle Sam, our gigolo,” as that is the case when he’s the one who’s climbing into bed with you.

And a final caveat to add to Tim’s list, you can use https://www.dnsstuff.com to track where a server is actually located and how secure a server is, etc.
And cross-reference them with https://www.resellerratings.com to see if they are listed in infamy there. Many will be.
When shopping for discounted software, cover your bases as more often than not, it can be a burn. Not always but we have seen it far too often go that way.

Thanks for the kind words, Ralph.
The reason that the forums were offline was that we have been load-balancing the servers that support the forums and the library. It’s new technology to us and we are learning as we go along. There was a glitch in one of our config files and it has been fixed now for the last few days and should be solid going forward.
Things should really start to speed up now as we are finally getting a handle on all this new hardware load-balancing system, all the new servers and the apache configs, etc.
We are learning more than we ever wanted to know about the Internet. ;o)

Get a trademark attorney. Pay the few hundred dollars to do a search the right way. Register it in the categories that your attorney recommends.
Sure, you can do it yourself but I don’t recommend it.
Be ready to spend money to protect your name. If you aren’t or you can’t, plan on having it highjacked/stolen when it becomes valuable.
