My work around in combustion is to put my 1080i composite inside a 720 x486 NTSC composite and scale down the 1080i composite inside the 720 x486 NTSC.
Ithen do work inside the 1080i composite and the update is sent to the 720x 486 comp which is displayed on my NTSC monitor

Click Start and then Run. In the command line, type: regsvr32 DVBuffers.ax.
Not sure about click start and run ?????

My current camera is not on the Avid xpress dv device list need to get something cheap any recommendations just view avid via firewire to NTSC monitor
