AME does not have optimization features for its GIF output. Photoshop allows you to lower the number of colors in your GIF’s and this will reduce your file size. It should be noted that H264 output will often provide smaller filesizes than an animated GIF. So, if filesize alone is your concern then an animated GIF is not ideal.

Start off with a font with a “Light” version. Ensure you enable Stroke in the Character Panel. Leave the Stroke value very low – 0.1 is good. Then add a Text Animator Group by selecting Stroke Width from the Text Animator Properties Menu. In the Advanced section, set Shape to Ramp Up and set the Stroke Width to a value of 20 – then adjust the to taste.

You can try duplicating the Text Animator Group to get the enhanced (non-linear) stroke increments that your example shows, for the characters to the right of the text string.

A good workflow prior to duplicating a Comp with precomps that reach further down than a single level in the hierarchy is to organize all the related comps, in the Project Panel, into a folder.

Name the Comps appropriately and use numbered suffixes to define their relationship to the Master/’Final’ comp. Then duplicate the folder and replace the precomps accordingly. Once organized into a folder, the duplication keeps all related comps in a context which allows for simpler substitution/replacement into their relevant/duplicated main comps.

AE, AME, PPro and I believe PS share the same memory pool – so it’s pointless to allocate more memory to other apps should you want to render in AME while concurrently running AE. When you render in AME, AME creates a duplicate of the AEP. This effectively allows you to even continue working on the same AEP that you sent for render in AME – a bit pointless but that’s how independent the render/AEP in AME is, from the AEP in AE.

Whether you should render concurrently is a BIG Q – you’ll be pushing the limits of your machine for sure. If you live to tell the tale, then please let us know; and include the specifics of the renders. 😉

I hope it is obvious you have to track the shots separately. You should then link each camera solve to a Null – use the Null as a central object/layer to link the different shots. You’ll have to look at the different shots and then think of the best way to link them all together, with the Null.

You will very likely have to delete keyframes from the start/end of each solve; and use the Null to keyframe Transforms, to link the different shots. I hope this makes sense.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with plugins or scripts or Extensions being similar.

There are scumbags who have accused me of ripping off other scripts only to start selling even more similar products than others I have developed!!! Colors, Shape Layers, Text Layers, LUTs/ColorFX etc etc etc, all, can provide similar results. If the UI is different and even if they provide identical results in all use-cases, the one with a better price and/or is more performant at the same price; should be the better product.

A different UI will invariably allow a user to create different effects. And just because someone came to market earlier doesn’t mean they were first with the idea. Not everyone has the time to develop products. And it has never been about a race, to market first.

There is this destructive mentality going around for a long while that anyone that comes out, first, with a poorly executed product should monopolize market share, perpetually – and amazingly, this extends to highly versatile tools such as Text Layers, Shape Layers, LUTs/ColorFX.
