Quickly scroll through a list in AE?
Is there any way to quickly scroll through a list in AE (such as the one shown in the example below) without having to first click on the list to open it and then select an option?

So like the blend layers with shift/=. Not to my knowledge there isn’t (and yes I’ve wanted something to test out different looks without having to look where I was mousing)
You might be able to tie a slider (set to integers) to the effect’s parameter with expressions. Dan Ebberts on the AE expressions forum might know a way to pull that off. -
Still works! However, I’m trying to achieve this for all types of lists.

Up/Down arrow keys are the fastest way to go through a list in AE.

hey its as easy as this – put this on the menu parameter in question of the effect (this was done on the fractal noise fractal type parameter) and you can slide through all the settings. Its got a rounding on it so only integers go to the effect.
Math.floor(thisComp.layer(“Null 1”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”))

You can also select the slider value and nudge it one setting at a time with the up or down arrow keys.
Depending on your layer stack you may need to put the slider on another layer. (as I did).
You can just keep staring at the screen and rip through all the options.
