My guess is that you added both the original clip, and the split events from the scene cut page into the Media Pool. You should not add the original clip, just the split events from the scene detector page.
This lets you use the Master Session for the grade, and you have the ability to Split/Join in case the scene detector made some mistakes.

When you have rendered the files, and looking at the DPX files, remember to switch back the reel number to “Embedding in source clip file”.

Hi Luis,
I suspect the “SA Color Finesse” is not outputting the LUT in a Resolve friendly format. My recommendation would be use the .cube format, and you can refer to the Alexa LUTs which work for you as a guideline.
It it doesn’t support that format, another way is to use the any software to burn/apply the LUT onto the trim_lut0.dpx file and save it as a new DPX file.
You can get this file from /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/trim_lut0.dpx
Now, take this LUT into Resolve, and use the “Generate LUT from Current Grade” function in the Config/LUTS section to generate a new LUT. There are a few settings you need to set to be able to use this, HD system resolution, etc. (documented in the manual I think), but once you have done this you will have Resolve usable LUT.

The greenish cast is known issue, and a fix for this should be available soon.

Just press the Matte/Mask button on the wave panel. Once you press Matte, it will activate the window.
You can also use the Node+CPW, etc. function to add a new node with a CPW window. I believe this is accessible with the Alt key (not next to a wave panel right now).

January 11, 2011 at 3:48 am in reply to: Power Mastering with Source Timecode & The Resolve ManualHi Paul,
If you have rendered files on disk, you can use the “Batch Output” function to lay off clips to the deck with handles. You can choose how many seconds of handles you want. It will lay off the files in one-go to the deck. Remember to choose Assemble mode.
If you have not rendered the files, and want to use PM (Power mastering), then you need to think about the handles. You will have to use the “Create Session with handles” function to create handles, and then that off with source timecode output turned ON.
In both these cases, your Deck will be set to regen timecode from Ext-VITC.
Regarding the loss of Deck control issues, remember to set your Decks to “AUTO” sync. If they are set otherwise, you’ll get a loop-around problem where the Deck is chasing the Decklink sync, and the Decklink is chasing the Deck. A good workaround for this is to use a sync generator to feed to both the Decklink card and the Deck itself.
Hope this help.

For the offline clip to sync with the conform you need to make sure the offline clip timecode matches or overlaps with the start timecode of the timeline. If there is no timecode on the clip, you can use the “Change timecode” in the media pool to assign a timecode to the clip.
e.g. if you have 3 EDLs containing a 10sec, 15sec and 30sec version of a commercial, you might get a single offline clip, but separate EDLs for each of the versions.

GPU Memory – the Q4000 has twice the amount of RAM. This makes a difference when working with 3K/4K files. When using a complex node structure, especially with mattes, you might run out of GPU RAM.

Also remember to enable the reel number support. Avid seems to not like MXF clips with empty reel numbers.
