YES! That was it. Build In Build Out were both checked. When I unchecked them, no fade up. But interestingly, a few titles do not show those choices, only Published Parameters of which there are none. Odd.

I made no disolve, it seemed to be a default that I’ve not figured out. sometimes they pop, sometimes fade up. is there a place to change the default setting. dragging the disolve on the clip doesn’t change anything.

Issues have been reported from people using Sony cameras, especially the FS9, not importing. I have an FS5 and have had trouble exporting even though my footage was imported a long time ago. Can’t be sure it’s a FCPX problem.

Best advice is not to upgrade when in the middle of an edit. And to have Time Machine, so you can go back to Mojave if problems arise.

and what about finding the event a clip came from. I create events for every shoot. I have a shot from an event found in Keywords – sign – and want to find that event to search other shots during that shoot. Can that be reverse looked up?
