I’ve been hoping Vegas would allow for a batch rename of files for years. My procedure is to rename all my files before I put them on the timeline but with the MP4 files I have now, windows doesn’t have the ability to view them by double clicking so I rename best I can.
Then if I want to save a project that has a lot of unwanted files in it, I remove those files from the timeline, and do a “save as” with only the files I have on the timeline to another directory with the “save media” option so only those events on the timeline will be moved to another directory.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

When you have all your videos on the timeline I do a “Save As” and then check the box that says “copy media with project”
That way if you have any stray audio events, sound effects, or anything at all, it will save the entire contents of what you have on the timeline in one file folder.
There have been many times when I had some music or some stray video event in my project that I didn’t realize was in some other file folder which I eventually deleted and then when I went to open the project it wasn’t there.
Doing the Save as and checking the copy media with project prevents that from every happening.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

You can take one track and stretch it out by holding the ctrl key and pulling the audio event to the right or left. Right will make it longer, left will make the piece shorter. You’ll see a squiggly line appear when you do that. I’ve done that many times when I need a piece of music to bee just a couple of seconds longer or shorter.
Then use your wave form to visually line them up. Having two tracks one above the other helps.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

One thing to be careful of is to be sure you have the “lock envelopes to events” icon selected otherwise if you’ve put some envelope points on the timeline they will not move with the events. It’s the icon that has the 3 dots above it and the lock below it.

I mean when I apply Mercalli, the video becomes more shaky and sometimes totally bizarre looking.

I can tell you for a fact that Mercalli does not work with Vegas12. I thought it might have been me doing something wrong but looks like it simply won’t do the job with 12

Can you point me to the URL where you found the LUT for DVX200?
I have looked on the Panasonic site and don’t see where it might be.

Vegas13 has an V-log plugin and in order to use it you need the LUT’s which are the tables that work with the plugin that tell it what natural and vibrant colors to produce from the dull footage that the V-log footage produces.
There’s no LUTs out there that I can find that work with Vegas.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com
