I’m not sure if this quirk is limited to my system, but I find that Compressor doesn’t kick in full force until after I quit FCPX. I’m not doing any work in FCPX while Compressor is rendering, just having it open causes Compressor to grind to a halt. It’s worth trying. I’d be interested in hearing anyone’s experience with this.

I experience the same problem and have reported it to Apple. It seems that the title clip can become corrupt whie changing the parameters. About half the titles I make become corrupt by varying degrees. Some titles just revert to the default font upon re-launching FCPX, while others completely lose the text, kerning, line spacing, etc. The titles remain intact if I switch projects; it’s not until I quit FCPX and re-launch that the titles lose their settings.

I continue to experience the same issue. Very frustrating!!! It happens to over half of the titles I make. Even the renders I make disappear after relaunching the app. The bug would be a little more tolerable if it was just the font that got reset, but it’s a random mix of missing text, line spacing, kerning, etc., etc.

Thanks for answering. I’ll be submitting this as a feature request on the FCPX feedback site.

    Hi again, Edward.

Pro Animator supports 10 bit rendering, but Invigorator Pro is still 8 bit, right? I have version 4.5.1.
Will Invigorator Pro support 10 bit in the future? And what about double-byte characters?

Oh, I wasn’t aware the latest version supported 10 bit. Thanks for the good news!

Will the next versions on Invigorator Pro and Pro Animator support 10 bit rendering?

    Hi Edward.
    Thanks for your quick reply.

I am using ProAnimator FX inside the latest version of FCP, 6.0.5. I haven’t tried it in Motion.
Setting the render mode to Software did the trick. I had it set to Final Hardware.

The amnesia bug still exists however, and yesterday what I had feared came true — the bug happened while editing with a client! Fortunately I have learned to export 3D models and make presets of all my work in ProAnimator FX so I was able to recreate the animation rather quickly. The bug seems most likely to occur when I work with complex Illustrator files. I have one file in particular that will disappear every time I quit and relaunch FCP. I’ve tried it on different computers with the same results. Weird.

July 18, 2008 at 4:45 am in reply to: Does Motion reuse Optical Flow analysis data?

Right. I knew I had this option before posting. The reason I was curious as to whether I could analyze once and then reuse the analyzed data with any instances of the original clip is because I am undecided about which cuts I want to use. I’d rather have the freedom to experiment with any parts of the clip, rather than selecting 10 or more cuts I think I might use and render them out as stand-alone clips. I plan to use many cuts from this footage and the majority of it will be slowed down to some degree.

    Thanks for your reply.
