How about you test to see if x is less than 3. If it is use linear else set 0. Something like
x = thisComp.layer(“Null”).transform.position[0];
if (x<3) {
linear (x, 2, 3, 100, 0)
} else {0} -
Thanks for the tip. I probably don’t do enough of such work to spend money on that product but uit’s good to know it’s there.

I think you also need a capital S unless you changed the default name

Did you make any progress on this?
Have you tried keyframing your audio and using an expression to link to something opacity/size whatwever to give you visual feedback? That’s a long shot I guess.

FWIW I just tried that script and it worked for a single mask on CS4. I’ve looked at the code and I don’t really see how it could create masks.
The new path created was called mask 1 etc because it had the name of the original.
Just my pennyworth as I really don’t know what I am doing.

Yeah the redefinery rd_gimmeproppath script byJeffrey R. Almasol is absolutely amazing.
I hadn’t used it before because the redefinery site only seems to include a later than CS4 version. However the older version is on github and its fine.
It resolved 99% of my After Effects object model questions apart from a few odds and ends like .guideLayer and other stuff which isn’t a property one can select in the timeline. The script has a big associative array which links UI stuff to the back end ADBE and that’s about as good a reference as anyone could want.
