I posted before the same question re my HDX900… although it seems to be the same for all of them. And one soundguy told me this is always the way with Pana camera,s ??? going directly into the camera.

If I go direct into the camera, the sound dial on the camera side has to be way down.. not even near 40%.
Usually I get sound from the sound persons mixer.. no problem and the dial in the (normal) position..
So I,d never noticed it till recently.. better than low I guess, was a bit unnerving setting the level so low.

Dont that camera, but my HDX900 has two shutter menus, shutter speed AND also shutter select. You can have a shutter speed selected, but if its not switched on,in the other menu,if wont work..

    Just a thought…

    Hi Ty

Yes merry xmas! hope your not in too much snow!

So if you have line level into the camera say from a mixer… the preamps wont be used? so a mic level input will be boosted to line level ? because its better quality ?

    Thanks again

    Hi there

Thanks for the advise… the signal is very hot coming direct into the camera so have to turn levels way down on the camera… but works ok. Wondered if putting say -6db attenuation into the transmitter would help… this is with ordinary talking levels in interviews.

So your advise is to stick with putting the camera levels down..

    Thanks
