Maybe Iam worrying too much.. but have heard people say they got called for Natgeo jobs.. claiming minimum spec 1080i.. some will then say the up res eg HDX900 or 2700 isnt true 1080i..
So I wonder to pay an extra $10,000 for the 3700.. bearing in mind the good trade in on betasp 400AP !!

Iam not making my own stuff.. so totally at the mercy of what may become “the approved spec,s” even if its total bollocks..

Just sort of seeing what others think?

Yes totally agree… esp as the HDX900 is ok.. googled this and zero on natgeo site.. and lots of posts from the ages ago.. nothing recent though.. apart from tech spec,s why would natgeo start laying down the law about what camera,s are ok.. mad.. maybe its all urban myth..?

Yes dont think it would really pay off to go for the 3700.. how do you handle card downloading if you dont have a wrangler along.. I would think most times I wont.. having to drag laptop and two HDD,s cables etc would be a pain.. my hope is that the downloading will gradually become the directer s /PA,s task at the end of the day.. 🙂

I guess my only worry would be getting the 2700.. but then having people say they want only the 3700..
My work is doc,s not drama..

What are the situations where you use the 3700? that you mention..

I have an old but working Betcam 400AP,and a still sometimes used digbeta 790 WS.. also HDX900..
Sort of wondering about the trade in that ends Sept I believe.. esp if I can trade the 400..
I read the trade in was for the 2700,and like the idea of being able to do slomo.. more than 4-4-4 etc

Still use my HDX900.. but ofcourse irs days are numbered.. have used the 3700.. nice camera but the whole down loading thing is not appealing… so far always had a data wrangler.. but doc,s wont pay for the extra body for sure.. what are your thoughts ?

So 2700 1080p is an upres thing like the HDX900 1080i Does the 2700 have AVC 100 also..

I dont think there is a 24 PA choice on the HDX900… I always thought the 24p with the HDX was 23.98..
