    Thanks Ian

I dont have the camera with me now.. can you give me more info about this setting..? or where it is in the manual PMW500..

    Thanks again for your time

  • Another poster on this forum who really knows his stuff, has always recommended the Arri Locaster as the best of all the LED lights out there.. for ENG on the road lighting situations.. if you dont mind paying for that quality..

Im sort in the same situation.. I have a pana HDX900 with a nanoflash.. works fine.. but will have to go totally tapeless sooner than later.

I had my eye on the 3100.. but get very few requests for P2.. and tons for XDCAM 422 HD.. (which the nano covers well) so now thinking of the Sony 500.

The 3100 is a nice camera.. but as the saying goes.. buy the camera your asked for.. not the camera you want to buy..

    Thanks

A handy trick,is to just pull the over head flo,s out of their sockets and twist them a bit to “Turn off” some of the tubes if you want to, in strategic places.. or just to bring the brightness down a bit..

Presuming your shooting on video .. you can also play with the color balance a bit.. if you have a decent monitor.. but I wouldnt go too far either way as best done in post..

At least a couple of diva,s for the actor/actors..

I tend to go for tungsten setting for interviews esp.. as I like the “blue” look of any window that might be in the frame.. daylight setting it just seems to go grey..

Personally I have 2 daylight and 2 tungsten bulbs in my Diva 400.. side by side alternately .. with camera mostly set for tungsten.. (interviews) found the tungsten only a bit too orange..
