    Thanks for your responses. I am not convinced it is a OSX 10.4.7 upgrade problem but will take the approriate safety measures for the future so I can “roll back”.

    Today when we came in and switched on the system FCP loaded up fine and plays back media no probs. Yesterday we couldn’t get it to.

    So I am thinking perhaps Blackmagic boad problem? Any suggestions on the back of thsi extra info much appreciated.
