Yea, I figured I didn’t have many options since FCP is processor based. Doesn’t RAM help with Motion though? I don’t remember where or when, but I sort of remember someone saying, “Motion is RAM intensive.”

Yes, I noticed that Compressor changes it from 23.98 to 23.976 automatically. Thanks for the heads up though, Jeremy.

    Thanks for the answer guys.

    John,

I know about the flaws corresponding to HDV, and I was really bummed about the fact that the JVC 200U only shoots HDV, but then I read this article:

Oh ok. That makes sense. I’ve never been in a position to use someone else’s gear anyway though. But that’s good to know for the future.

    Thanks again!

    Walter,

This is very good advice and I really appreciate it. Teaming up with another production company that has experience is a great idea, and I would have never thought of that.

    Thanks,

“And the PD170 has a Color LCD. I would have at least checked it while shooting.”

You’re right, I should have checked and it was a stupid mistake on my part. I just never encountered this before. I didn’t know this happened under florescent lighting.

Now I know for the future, but I’m not psyched that I had to learn this lesson the hard way.

    Thanks for the tips guys.
