“is it a Federal grant or private?”
I don’t have any grants yet. I was just wondering how they work in terms of me being able to pay my bills and such. In the future i will be sure to always read the paperwork though.

I dunno. I have never received a grant before. I figured grants would cover equipment, paying crew members, travel, etc. I just wasn’t sure if I’d be covered if the project was MY idea – not the person funding the project, ya know.
But hey, if you guys say I’m covered, im psyched.

Well that is good to hear. I’ve been interested in trying to generate my own content, and that will require a lot of hard work and long hours. So it’s nice to know that working living expenses into a budget is not out of bounds.

Yup, you got it. And the reason why you don’t need to keep it enabled is because that clip should already be in your timeline in FCP. So the video clip will be on track V1, and the graphic you make in Motion will be right above it on track V2.

For the titling, I would simply import the video clip into Motion so you can use it as a place holder. Make your titles/graphics. Disable the video clip that you are using as a place holder. Save the Motion project. Then import the Motion project into FCP and drop it in the desired location in your timeline. If you need to make changes to the graphic, right-click the clip(motion project) in your timeline and select “Open In Editor. Edit your graphic and then save. The graphic should update automatically in FCP. This is the beauty of round-tripping in Final Cut Studio.
Color grading with Color will probably be your last step. Walter Biscardi made a solid tutorial on prepping your timeline for Color:

hmm…I think if you use Compressor you can do this.
When you are adjusting your settings in the Inspector window, In the Encoder Pane change the Audio from “Enabled” to “Pass Through.”

I would have used Compressor to convert to ProRes with 29.97fps and 48kHz audio.
