    The manual in pdf is now on the Panasonic web site. It appears it will not do dual recording although you can dump from the card to mini dv tape in SD dv format only.

    Thanks for the info. This is sort of a legacy machine. I have discreet edit and Pinnacle Chrome but because everyone seems to talk FCP I wanted to see what all the hype is about. Version 5.0 does a lot and if I wanted to start from scratch, that would be the way to go. Since the G4 500 will not do HD it makes sence for me to see if I can get it to work with what I already have. Mini dv is great but I would have more of a market for this system if I can connect it via component to my UVW1800. Even if I have to use FCP version 2.0
