    Hi Greg,
I’m curious. What’s the new school? Flash drives or some IT guy installs files on multiple laptops?
I’m copying files onto flash drives to have something physical to hand out but I wish there was a flash drive case as standardized as a DVD case. Maybe nobody has shelves anymore ☺ What would you put on them?
    Cheers,

  • Thanks, Mark,
These are files downloaded from BM to accompany their book on DVR 15.
I will look at what they are.
    Meanwhile:
I got the clip to appear — saved the project, closed DVR, changed display on the Mac to very large scaled then back to Default, reopened the project. Don’t know if any of that related, but something happened and now I can see the clip in the Source Window.
    But thanks for responding.

    Hi Melisa,
What I’m picking up from various groups is that bitrate is a big determiner of file size. I keep trying lower bit rates until I get the size I need.
Can’t help with the alpha channel.

    Hi Noam,
I’ve been using G-Tech brand spinning disks for a few years, including a couple of 4 TB boxes. No problems. They’re built for Firewire so I have to use hubs to connect to recent computers.

    Thanks, Bob.
Yes that’s the jog control I found in the manual. Tried extreme settings on Mac Display Prefs but it doesn’t appear on this little 13-inch screen.

Yes, the cursor arrows work, but frame-at-a-time so the sound stutters but is workable. In Pr we held down the shift key plus arrows to move slowly but not here, apparently.

    Thanks ,

    Hi Bob,
Where is this “icon just to the right (“More Space”) of the Default?” Mac System Prefs? I don’t see it on this little Mojave Airbook. Are you looking at DVR preferences? Can’t see the jog control. Is there another way to slow down jogging?
    Thanks,
    Robert

  • Hi All,
My 5 Firewire drives are working fine with my Mojave-based Airbook though running through a Thunderbolt dock to whichthunderboltisit? 2, I think.

It’s an interesting challenge to work with vintage but still quite alive software and equipment.

Though I’d probably recommend a $300 digital camcorder or shooting with an iphone through MoviePro. Don’t all kids have a phone that records digital movies these days?

    Cheers,

Re: identifies the wav files as 23.976 before importing but as soon as I add them to a bin the frame rate is seen as 24.000

Is Resolve a software like the old FCP that just decided to call all 23.976 files 24.000? They just liked to round off. This could cause a sync issue in a sound mix.
    I wonder,
